All puppies are priced individually at approximately 4-6 weeks when we are able to do our initial evaluation. The pricing may change as the puppies mature, as they often mature tinier and nicer than we were anticipating. All prices listed are Pet Companion prices on a Spay/ Neuter Contract. All puppies are sold as pet only and must be altered as further outlined in the Spay/ Neuter contract section. Shipping or delivery charges are not included in the purchase price.
Our average pet price ranges from $2900-$5000 though we reserve the right to price higher or lower than this range which is provided as a guideline only. We also reserve the right to make an adjustment to price at any time until a deposit is made on the puppy.
Some of the factors that go into our pricing include:
Confirmation and overall structure- We are striving to breed all of the quality of a standard size Shih Tzu such as a thick double coat, strong bone, teacup tail set and breed conformity into a smaller package that is correctly proportioned ( shorter legs, shorter back - not just less weight)
Pedigree- Breeding the highest quality World Champion and Imperial lines- even though our puppies are are only offered as pets certain pedigrees certain recognizable looks/traits which are highly coveted and shows in the puppies. While all puppies are cute a well bred puppy reflects its pedigree in maturing into a stunning adult Size- We breed more for overall small/tiny size than weight alone. We would rather have short legs, short back and wide body build than fine boned. While generally speaking the smaller than puppy the higher the price ( the tiny puppies generally involve more work/we keep them much longer than a standard size puppy) the highest price puppies are the puppies who are the total package rather than just the tiniest ones
Color/Gender: While in Shih Tzu all colors are considered equally you just have to watch one dog show to know that 90% of Show Shih Tzu are gold and white! So getting the qualities of show Shih Tzu like the correct double coat, correct dark pigment ( color of the nose, eye rims) and correct conformation in some of the harder to find colors like chocolates ( livers), whites, blues, solid red ect. does mean that dogs in these colors will be priced higher as there are a lot fewer quality whites and creams ,for example, than gold and whites so the demand for them is higher and they are harder to produce. Sometimes we have a higher demand for one specific gender over the other, especially for females and that does factor into pricing.
Overall Quality/ Beauty- We are always striving to breed dogs who are the total package on the inside and out!
Discount/ Cheap puppies: We do not have cheap or discounted puppies- in fact we often raise our prices as our puppies mature. Raising quality puppies is not cheap and it shows in our puppies. Please be wary of breeders offering cheap or discounted puppies- they have either not been breeding long or are cutting the cost of care to their puppies and breeding adults. These puppies are typically produced by puppy mills, backyard breeders or people who have not been breeding long and really don't know what they breeding. You are not saving a puppy by purchasing from these people but rather freeing up a space so these breeders can continue to breed. While purchasing a puppy from someone who just has a couple of dogs and has just had a litter or two may seem like you are going to be getting a home raised socialized dogs keep in mind that people having only a couple of litters can’t offer you a health guarantee because they haven’t been breeding long and won’t continue to breed, they are likely to have done little to no health testing and often know little or nothing about what the conformation, temperament ect of the Shih Tzu is supposed to be. You will have no one to turn to if your puppy has a health /training/ socialization problems. We have exclusively been breeding Shih Tzu for over 8 years with a background in previously breeding German Shepherds imported from Germany and Champion Morgan horses. A healthy Shih Tzu has a lifespan of 12-18 years please take your time to do your research and chose a breeder who is passionate, educated about the breed, experienced and cares about producing healthy good examples of the breed not just putting two dogs together to make puppies. If you are unable to purchase from a reputable breeder or don't have the time to research breeders please consider adoption.
Non-Refundable Holding Fee
When you have decided on a puppy we require a Non-Refundable Holding Fee of ⅓ of the purchase price of the puppy. We DO NOT hold puppies without a deposit! When we have puppies actively for sale we often have multiple inquires on the same puppy, sometimes in the same day. We can't lose a sale because you are thinking about a puppy or want to make an appointment to see the puppy at a later date. The first qualified home who makes a commitment with their non-refundable holding fee is the new puppies owner. The non-refundable Holding fee will be applied to the total purchase price of the puppy. Any fees associated with the Holding fee (Such as fees charged by credit cards, Paypal ect ) are the responsibility of the buyer, as we take multiple payment methods as a convenience to you.
We charge a Non-Refundable Holding Fee to take the puppy off the market and reserve the puppy for you. Even if you change your mind later the fee is non- refundable because of potential lost sales so please make sure that you are ready to make the 12-18 year commitment a new Shih Tzu puppy entails and please also make sure to study and agree to our policies and contracts as their will be no refunds for any reason. Once we have received a Non-Refundable Holding the price will not change.
We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. We also reserve the right to cancel a sale at any time if we no longer feel the sale is in the best interest of one of our puppies. This is the only case where money will be refunded.
Though we do not offer refunds of any kind we understand that sometimes things may happen in life unexpectedly or a puppy may be maturing differently than you were hoping for. The Holding Fee can be transferred to another puppy in full if the puppy is under the age of 7 weeks or 80% of the Holding fee can be transferred if the original puppy is over the age of 7 weeks. We reserve the 20% fee in order to re advertise the original puppy, if additional shots or care or needed ect. These transfers are with breeder approval only. We want to have the transfer option for people who may experience an emergency not for people who just decide they want a different puppy. Please keep in mind that we are small home breeders and do not have puppies all the the time. Keep in mind that you may have to wait for what you are looking for, especially when looking for something specific.

The remaining balance is to be paid at the time of pick up for in person clients or by 8 weeks for clients where delivery is required unless other payments are made. For puppies where delivery by car is required, puppies will be paid for in full and delivery fee must be paid in full prior to us delivering the puppy.
